Baby Monitor

I'm downstairs, and the baby monitor is on upstairs, where Auntie Meta, Emmett, Kai, and Wren are right now.  Wren is breastfeeding, and Auntie Meta commented that Wren appears to like one side better than the other.  It was postulated shortly thereafter that perhaps one was candy cane and the other chocolate fudge.  Exactly what I was thinking.

Uncle Alec

Hi boy cousins!!!  Hi girl cousins!!!  P.S. I am a girl so I am going to use Pink.   But I might use Blue.

Then, when we had looked all over the backyard I remembered the side yard and when I looked there I found him he looked super scared like a hawk had come and tried to pick him up.

Maggie

Laina

Did you know there's such thing as a two headed snake? It's a freak in nature. Ask your mom or dad or older siblings to know what that means. I'm writing this because my mom sort of just told me to write a fact about something.

Laina

Laina

If we ever all get back together again, we should take a picture with Wren. She isn't in the cousins rule picture.

Laina

Laina

I'm barley awake now. I woke up at 7:06, but i'm like, almost falling back asleep.

It's fine with me if you want to leave it. The only thing is, though, to me the sign we were holding up doesn't really look like a title. Plus, i found a really cool picture where Emmett's jumping.

Maggie

I don't want to change the picture Laina.

Laina

We could call it cousins rule, like it says in the picture, but if you didn't want that we could also change the picture. I'm also going to sign my name normally starting now.

Laina

Maggie

Evelyn, What the heck! That does NOT make any sense!

Blog Title

I have no problem if you cousins want to rename the blog.  I like the "Cousins Rule" idea.  Oh!  I have an idea: Supercousinsruletheblogpostswithextrafactsandcoolpics.

Also, since all of you are on the edge of your seats waiting to find out the number you should not talk about in front of people...it's 288.  288 is 2 x 144, and 144 is "one gross," so 288 is too gross.  HAHAHAHA!

Uncle Alec

PINK RULESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HI GIRL COUSINS!!! I JUST WENT TO MY CHURCH,BECAUSE FINLEY HAS TO DO WATER WATER EVERYWHERE. WHEN I WAS AT THE PARK YESTERDAY,I WAS LOOKING FOR LIZARDS,I SAW ONE,BUT THEN IT RAN AWAY,WE ALL GOT SIDE TRACKED ON MUD AND WATER. MAGGIE PUT A LOT OF MUD ON HER LEG,SHE PUT WATER ON IT TO. THAT IS A REALLY CUTE MOLE,LAINA!!!

Maggie Again:)

Actually, I think we should just call it Cousins Rule!

Maggie

Laina, I think we should just leave it how it is. Because the sign says "cousins rule" right? so if we leave it it's called Cousins Rule! Ok?

Laina

My mom says we can change the Whoa!Mesdag title and call it something else as long as Uncle Alec doesn't mind. Kai or Emmett, could you please ask your dad if he's okay with that?  If you're up for changing the name (with Uncle Alec's permission), write down some ideas we could re-name Whoa!Mesdag.

Hi!!!!!! We're house sitting on Whidbey island. We're going to go back on Tuesday. We brought Harvey. My dance recital is very very soon!!!! I can't wait for my recital. I got my dance pictures today. Also, on Tuesday I have my normal dance lessons. Did you know that Eli is writing this? (I was forced to write that one.) I'm just telling him what to write.

                                             -From Hazel

Abby

Hi! I just blogged because my mom stuck me on the computer and told me to. Nothing much has happened here that Eli or Hazel hasn't already blogged about. Except that in the wedding that Hazel was a flower girl in, I was a bridesmaid. Eli was a groomsman. It was really really really boring at the wedding and pretty much all I did was pose in pictures. At my sleepover, we made homemade sundaes which is vanilla ice cream with candy, either chocolate or caramel syrup, and a maraschino cherry on top. We also watched the movie The Princess Bride.

Awesome! Three flower girls, one dean, one mesdag, one weber! Anybody else--girls--been flower girls?

Laina

Oh, I Forgot to tell you...

I was a flower girl once to!

Maggie

Laina, Hazel was a flower girl for her uncle's wedding!

Laina

Thanks for saying you liked the film, Maggie! I'm trying to make more videos like that but it isn't working because my friend, Kate, wants to do a long video. That won't work, though, because the other one I did was short so the one about Kate should be short, because I'm trying to make it into a "the kids in the neighborhood films." Also, Kate is moving to Minnesota, so I'm trying to make a video before she leaves.

Something else, Hazel--why were you a flower girl? At who's wedding was it? I was a flower girl once, and I'm going to a wedding this Saturday. Oh, another thing--was there a dance floor? I hope there will be one at the wedding I go to.

Maggie

Yea, I liked it Laina.

Hazel Again

Two days ago, I was a flower girl!  From Hazel

Eli

Yesterday we (me, my mom, Abby) were coming home from Wild Waves. We got stuck at a light for a left turn, but it hadn't turned green for the whole cycle! We waited two more cycles and it still didn't turn green! So, before the fourth cycle started we switched lanes to go forward, and GUESS WHAT HAPPENED THAT CYCLE!

hint:

Hazel

Hi! Tomorrow we are going to Whidbey. I'm so excited!!! but I'm sure I will be cleaning all day. I'm going to my dads mom and dads house. It is  because we are house sitting. Also because Abby's birthday party. There chickens and three cats but we see one not so much. Her name is Bella. There is one swing too. I can't wait for Tomorrow. Uncle Alec nope nope nope from Hazel.
Both Finley and Evelyn had and have a birthday coming up and I figured out how to make collages on my phone. I will make one for Maggie when it is her birthday so I can see how much she has changed over the years too. Haven't both girls changed a lot?!! -Auntie Erin
This is the present Maggie made for her dad. Auntie Erin This is a dress I was supposed to wear in my kindergarten school picture but I changed into different clothes instead. (I hated wearing dresses all growing up... I like them now). When Moeki asked me if I changed before or after the pictures I lied and told her after but that wasn't smart of me because soon she got the photos and knew I lied. Lesson learned: NEVER lie to your parents....you will ALWAYS get caught :)

Auntie Meta

We had a great week with Moeki at our house.  She made lots of yummy food, did fun projects, played with the boys and took care of me and Wren while we recovered.  It's always so much fun getting to spend time with Moeki and extra special having her in our home.  Here's some photos from our time with Moeki.

There was a day or two of sunshine.  Our front porch feels really warm in the mornings and is the perfect spot to draw birds and worms.

Guess what Kai has drawn?

Multi tasker extraordinäre

Its pretty hard to not be totally in awe of our sweet baby girl.

Heres Kai working on a glue food coloring painting project

Super yummy strawberry rhubarb apple sauce made by Moeki.

This last photo is not of any of us...though it looks pretty familiar to all you curly haired cousins and aunties and moeki.  Love you guys
Auntie Meta

Finley's Birthday Party!!!

Today was Finley's birthday party! She invited four familys the kids names are: Zac, Nic and Kenedie (they are triplets and Zac uses a walker.) Anyway, the other kids names are Emmie and Aubrie Hayley Elizbeth and Alexa. Zac, Nic and Kenedie got Finley lots of bubbles. Hayley got her markers, a pillow and a barbie craft kit. Emmie and Aubrie got her a pack of gum and three tank tops Elizbeth and Alexa got her a bug cage and three water squirters. We have had lots of bubble partys in Finley's room and my room Evelyn was the one that broke the pinata.

Laina

Hi, fellow cousins! (Does that make sense ?) So, I haven't taken a picture of what I gave my dad, but anyway, Grandma's request, I'll tell you peeps about why I like my dad.
1. He's nice
2. He can do our cavities or whatever we need done on our teeth
3. We often get to sit in first class if he gets bumped up on a plane
I'll make it clear that there's more reasons, but then the list would be too long, so maybe I'll do the other reasons later. Right now I feel like doing something else, like posting pictures.

Don't Kate and I look a lot alike except she's taller? (Believe it or not, she's in kinder going on to first grade!)

Hand righting!!!

Largest,Biggest, Hand righting!!! Smallest, tiniest, Hand righting!!!

~Evelyn

Funny huh? -Maggie

Didn't Catch Anything...

Well, no luck fishing on Saturday.  Pretty slow day fishing for everyone out there, it looked like.

Caden - A hint on the riddle.  The number 144 has a name that it doesn't share with any other number.  BTW, nice baseball photo-shoot, rockstar.

Emmett drew me a wren for Father's Day.  I am supposed to bring it to the office, but I forgot it sitting on the counter at home.  I will bring it in tomorrow.  Maybe we'll get a picture of it up on the blog before I bring it to work.  It is my favorite wren he has drawn.

About Kai's song...Emmett learned "This Land is Our Land" at school on the violin, and a number of kids at school learned alternate lyrics, which made their way to Kai.  I like the original version better.

Toby's dad sure is Handsome.

Laina

Sorry, I ment January 2005, not the 5.

Laina

Laina

I got all my art home on the last day of school, so I gave a drawing of vibrations to my dad. I'll try to get a picture of it so I can show you guys...but I won't post the picture on this post, I'll make a new post and put it on there if I do happen to take a photo of it.

Laina

P. S. Go to January 2005, and you'll see that Lucy's husband is almost orange. Also, scroll down. See if there's something else.

Fathers Day

I was thinking since today is Father's Day you could tell us something you like about your dad.  I was talking to Toby about it this morning and he said he really like that his dad could glow in the dark!
Check January 2005 to see for yourself.

Grandma Moeki

Maggie

Eli-I made a cross stich it has six ties and two bow ties and it says happy fathers day on it.

Eli

Actually, Caden, Uncle Alec asked if you used 8 number 8s. Try this equation, 888+88+8+8+8.
That consists of 8 8s and when you add it all up it equals 1000.

Today's father's day! What did you guys get for your dads? I'll tell you as soon as I give it to him. Also, today is my uncle's wedding!!! I hope it isn't boring, it probably won't be though, because I'm a junior groomsman. I'll tell you once it's over.

Maggie

Good job on those wrens Emmett, I like the one with blue on it.

Kai

Kai
It is funny when you said it is just Wren when it is actually Wren Adley. This land is private property!   This land is my land, it isn't your land.  I have a shotgun, you don't got one, I'll blow your socks off if you don't get off!!!  this land is private property.  SLAM!!!!!!!!!!!  What does Feme spell?

Emmett

I've been drawing Wren's a lot lately, this is some of them.  Cool huh?

Laina

I have no idea what to write, so I think I should ask myself this question: what are you about to write about?

I think I'll look for some good pictures and see if I can write a story about one of them. :)

One of the boy's almost-father took these three first photos.
I put these two other photos x-large so you can see them better. (Note that they spelled Caden wrong on this picture. They spelled it "Kaden")
 Caden throwing.

Caden's getting ready to hit the ball out of the outfield.

 Here's Caden playing shortstop.
When I was selecting pictures, Caden saw this one and liked it so I put it on my post.
Laina

Caden

Uncle Alec-I don't think it made sense when you said, "why shouldn't you talk about 288 in front of people?"

I'm going fishing tomorrow

Hazel - Did you go camping?  Yep, yep, yep, or nope, nope, nope!!

Laina - I totally saw that you wrote you were not eating your hair.  However, after reviewing the photographic evidence of what was actually happened, I determined that you were, in fact, eating your hair.  I know that this is correct because, in recent years, I have become an expert picture-looker-ater.

Abby - Pretty exciting that you're a teenager.  I did the math today and discovered that I was done with my teen years prior to you being born.  There was a glimmer of hope when the thought first popped into my mind that that might not be the case, but as I subtracted 3 from 4 in the ones column, the grim reality began to seep through.

Eli - Winner!  WINNER!!!  And school's out.  Shazam!

Caden - Got one for you: Why shouldn't you talk about 288 in front of people?

Emmett & Kai got the Audbon app and were able to identify the birds that visit our feeder the most.  They are two Dark-eyed Juncos that look just like this:

And here is a photo of the fish I caught last weekend.

I'm going out early tomorrow morning again to see if I can catch another one.

Signed, Uncle Alec
