Not only do I get to pretend I'm camping in a tree house, but the floor looks great, AND it's a sunny day!

Papa is busy putting the first of 3 coats of finish on the floor. Tomorrow morning when I get up I will go down the stairs and walk across a plank, turn right on another plank and go to the bathroom. From there I will go back out on the plank and turn right again to let the dogs out, then I will go around to the other side of the house and climb a ladder into the kitchen window where I will have my favorite...coffee! Don't worry Erin...it should be dry by the time you arrive.

What is it with little brothers?

I know I've said Eli is funny, but today he was so deliberately a pill. Abby started yelling at him in the back seat while we were driving to a playdate, "Eli! Wake up, Eli!" & was all worried about him sleeping since it was early & we were going to play. I glanced back at him & that boy had his eyes closed & a smile on his face & was pretending to sleep & was making his sister nuts on purpose! He even did the take-big-breaths-in-&-out-with-eyes-closed pretend sleep thing. All to make Abby nuts.

Strawberries

So yesterday we went to Carnation to pick strawberries & I overestimated (by a lot) how much we would need for jam. We got 20 lbs. of strawberries (2 boxes). I got through one box last night & was up to 11 making the 3 batches of jam (10 jars). At least we won't be lacking strawberry jam for awhile.

Also, I'm sure you all would like another example of how sweet Eli is. I got over a dozen splinters in my leg while on the ladder painting at Lucas & Robyn's house & now I have a patch of healing scabs (such a lovely picture I'm painting for you) on my shin. Eli was so concerned about it yesterday & kept saying, "Owie, owie! Mama, owie!" & pointing at my leg. Finally I just asked him if he'd like to kiss it to make it all better & he just went all for that idea & I ended up with tons of kisses on my shin. He noticed my leg again this morning & started kissing my "owie" again.

Abby is building a house out of blocks in the living room since I've already put Eli down for a nap. She commented that it's taking a long time for us to have a new house & then she said we should just call "Kie-ko" & they'd get us a house. Geico would love my girl.
